2000 Sonata CD player

Hi everyone,
I just purchased a 2000 Sonata with a CD player installed. The problem
is about every other day the CD player console says "ER2". The music
may stop or keep playing. Sometimes the cd won't eject until the car
is turned off and back on. Then the eject button works.

Is this a mechanical problem? Can I clean the inside tray? I don't
know how to get the face plate off to get inside? Is there help on how
to open it?

Maybe I should get a new CD player. Are they hard to install?

Thanks for the help,
Ed

Go for the new cd player. Unfortunately Hyundai's bumper to bumper
warranty does not cover radios/cd/cassettes. They're covered for 3/36
only.

These units are usually available on eBay at a fraction of the dealer
price.

I have to say, tho, that I found that switching the unit was pretty
hard. Assuming that you have the cassette/CD combo, you have to remove
the climate control assembly and trim piece around the player. The
first time I tried to pull the trim off I cracked the side piece, so
exercise caution.

Good luck,
Harry
