2001 Sonata

I need to change the Spark Plug Wires on 2001 Sonata. Trying to save some
$$$. Need some advice on the difficulty of doing this myself.

Thanks.

Re: 2001 Sonata

I have changed the plug wires on a 99 4Cyl and it was a piece of cake. The
hardest problem is finding the wires someplace other than the dealer who
wants a arm and a leg for them.

Re: 2001 Sonata

Which engine do you have? The 2.4 4 cyl is very simple. The 2.5 V6
significantly more difficult, but can be done by someone who has
reasonable experience disassembling and reassembling minor components.

Re: 2001 Sonata

Thanks for the reply. It's a 2.5 V6.

Re: 2001 Sonata

You'll need to remove the upper intake (plenum) to access the rear plugs
and wires. If you do this, take great care to not drop anything into the
open intake holes -- many techs cover them with a rag to prevent anything
from accidentally dropping inside the engine.
