2002 Santa FE Radio

My 02 Santa FE radio (Hyundai unit with CD) has suddenly dediced to have
intermittent zero reception on FM all across the band while AM now has
motorboating across the spectrum unless it is tuned to a very strong local
station. Has anyone else here encountered these problems. TIA

Sounds like you've lost contact with your antenna!

Good luck,
Harry

My radio was doing something kind of like that... But a week later the
battery went out. I replaced the battery, and the radio has been fine ever
since... Could it be the car battery?

Actually, the problem seems to be a defective capacitor/s. If the heat is on
high for a while the system will work. This combined with the motorboating
etc on the AM is indicative of a capacitive fault in the system. The dealer
didn't hesitate, just checked the symptoms and ordered me a new one.
