Accent 2002 Clutch issues
I have a 2002 Accent with manual transmission only 17,000 miles! Last
February the clutch became very stiff and the stick shift would only move if the car was turned off. I was told that the fluid had to be replaced in the master cylinder because it was discolored. Three days later they had to replace the master cylinder because the clutch stopped working. Well last week it occurred again, the stick shift becomes clunky, difficult to shift in 1,2,3rd gears. They replaced the fluid again and said that Hyundai recommends that the boots be filled with a silicone material that is getting mixing in the fluid causing it to gum up. I’m so mad I could spit! What is wrong with it! -- Posted using the http://www.AutoForumz.com/ interface, at author's request Articles individually checked for conformance to usenet standards Topic URL: http://www.AutoForumz.com/Hyundai-ev...pict97375.html Visit Topic URL to contact author (reg. req'd). Re: Accent 2002 Clutch issues
Pretty much what they've said is wrong with the car is correct. I presume
they'll change the master cylinder again. This problem appears to be more prevalent in cold weather. |

Should I just sell the car or trade it in? Two Master cylinder’s in one year is terrible! -- Posted using the http://www.AutoForumz.com/ interface, at author's request Articles individually checked for conformance to usenet standards Topic URL: http://www.AutoForumz.com/Hyundai-ev...pict97375.html Visit Topic URL to contact author (reg. req'd). I suppose what you do is up to you. Right now, I would think that it's
still within the warranty period and shouldn't require significant worrying. |
