Accent antena and maintence
Wow i just found this form and i ahve several questions
1. How do i take the antena off my car?(a 02 accent)I have tried almost everything but i cant get it off 2. How important is it to get the maintence, and what is more important the mileage or the age of the car? My car is only 2 years old but i have 37k on it, i never got the 30k maintence, but i do always get my old changed (i even use a synthetic oil) 3. My rear break light is out is this covered by the warrenty? and about how much will it cost to replace if it is not? THANKS |
Re: Accent antena and maintence
according to the webpage the only things that need to be done are the spark
plugs and the air filter, but my beaclership offered a service arounf 400, that included an alignment, braks and some other things, do i really need all of that? |

This allows the transmission to shift into its highest (overdrive) gear, which improves fuel economy. If you drive long distances at a certain range of speeds (typically around 40 mph), then you may notice the transmission "hunting", that is, shifting back and forth between 3rd and 4th gear. This can be annoying, so if you notice this, you can turn the overdrive off and the transmission will stay in 3rd gear. Re: Accent antena and maintence
1. The antenna unscrews. There will be flats at the bottom of the mast.
2. You only need to do those things outlined in the maintenance schedule. I'd also change the transmission fluid. I know the manual says something like 105k, but I think that's pretty much ridiculous on any car. It's still relatively cheap insurance to change the fluid and filter. |
Re: Accent antena and maintence
Oops. Forgot.
3. Your brake bulb is only covered for 1yr/12kmiles, so it's not covered by your warranty any more. I replace them for the cost of the part only, but your service facility may charge you 0.2hr or so. |
Re: Accent antena and maintence
Thanks!! When do you think i should get new breakpads? I think that my
breaks are a little soft. but they did just pass Pa state inspection, is there anyway I can get touchier breaks? |
Re: Accent antena and maintence
You'll probably have the best performance from factory pads. Switching to
other friction materials on one axle can distort the front to rear braking ratio. You should replace the front brake pads when they reach 2/32". Did the inspection station record how much was left on the pads. 4/32" to 5/32" usually indicates next oil change is a good time to check them again. How's your rear brake adjustment? Does your parking brake lever come up much further than it did before? If so, you may want to adjust the rear brakes. This will reduce your pedal travel before the brakes actually begin slowing the car. |
