Yep.

Hyundai is not sending these notices. The dealer is. Look closely and
you'll see that the notice very prominently mentions one and only one
dealership (or chain of dealerships). If this were actually from Hyundai,
it would include a listing of dealers or provide information that will help
you locate dealers.

If it looks too good to be true....

Buy back offers
 

Hyundai keeps sending me offers to buy back my car for a very good price and
a ridiculously good price off a new Hyundai. They claim there is a need for
used recent model Hyundais in the market and that's why they are offering
top dollar to buy my used vehicle.

Anyone else here getting these offers? They sound too good to be true and
their reasoning that there is a shortage of used Hyundais for sale also
sounds suspect. What are they doing this for? Is it just a ploy to get
people in the showroom and then its business as usual?

I've gotten a few of them, plus a phone call today about a special price on
oil changes.
Sure, there are people lined up waiting to buy my used, high mileage Sonata.
Seems as though there are a shortage of cars and the manufacturers of new
cars just can't keep up with demand.

I figure I'd end up with essentially the same car, different color, higher
payment.

I get them in the mail semi-regularly here in MA along with a call one
night. The caller didn't change his script pne bit, even when I
skeptically asked he was sure there was a demand for an '03 Accent
with 115K miles on it.

I've also had offers to pay full book value as trade-in on my car and
a $5 gas card if I take a test drive.

I see there is a $500 rebate on the '09 Accent. I'll buy sometime
after they push it up to the usual $1000.

That 'full book value' is where the 'hook' is located. It will be the
lowest value in the book and WAY lower than you ever dreamed.
