Check Engine Light - 2005 Elantra
I have a 2005 Elantra with 1600 miles on it and the check engine light stays
on. At first I thought it was the gas cap thing, opened it and closed it. Light went off after a few starts, then came back on. Went to the nearest dealer (not where I bought the car), they said the electronic control module was bad. Part was supposed to be overnighted, but it was on backorder. They got the part in, it was wrong. The dealer actually gave me a loaner. They fixed it, I picked up my car on Thursday. Then on Friday the light came on again and has stayed on. I called the dealership and they will look at it whenever I can get there. The car is running fine, and other than this issue I love my car. What can the problem be??? Leslie |

Could be just about anything. Hyundai recently released a booklet
describing its diagnostic trouble codes and descriptions. The section involving things that could trigger a check engine lamp is 36 pages. |

As said earlier it could be many things so you'll hve to leave it with them for some time to get to the bottom of it. Jon |
