Computer read out
I went to the dealer today to have te computer read out. They say there are
no trouble codes stored in the computer (also showed to me by a print out). Back home I attached a voltmeter onto it and I read out code 43 (4 long sweeps and 3 shot ones). How is this possible?? |
Re: Computer read out
Is it possible you are reading trans codes?
Engine code 43 is an egr error. Trans code 43 is an open shift solenoid circuit. Did you have the trans solenoid connector disconnected for any reason? |
Re: Computer read out
How can I tell if I read out the trans or the engine codes?
The dealer should also be able to read out the trans codes, right? |
Re: Computer read out
I checked the HMAservice site and I discovered that the trans code 43
applies to a car with automatic transmission. My car has manual transmission. |
Re: Computer read out
You won't get any trans codes then. Is your check engine lamp on? If so,
then the dealer probably has an issue with their equipment or they have selected the wrong vehicle. There will be a code if the check engine lamp is on. If it is not on, don't worry about it unless your check engine lamp comes on. |
Re: Computer read out
The check engine light is not on, but if code 43 is a trans code what does
it have to do with my (manual transmissioned) car? |
Re: Computer read out
Nothing. You can't have a trans code with a manual. There's no trans
computer to give a code readout. If the light stays off, be happy. It will come back on if there's a real EGR problem. |
