Do HYundai's have panic button on remote?
I HOPE not! I'm real tired of accidentally pressing it on my Honda
remote and almost having a heart attack! -- Do not email if posting response. To email, replace x with 4 |
Re: Do HYundai's have panic button on remote?
Nope, I wish they did though. It's useful to find your car in a large
lot when you can't remember where you left it... On Tue, 03 Feb 2004 22:17:48 -0800, Robin <robinxjoy@yahoo.com> wrote: >I HOPE not! I'm real tired of accidentally pressing it on my Honda >remote and almost having a heart attack! |

Our '02 Sonata does not but our '04 Santa Fe LX does, and I've hit the tank's panic button about a hundred times just trying to figure out which remote is which by feel inside my jacket pocket. |

Re: Do HYundai's have panic button on remote?
Now here's an interesting question. None of the 2003 models (that I
know of) have the panic button. Does anyone know if a 2004 remore with the button could be reprogrammed for a 2003 model (say, my Sonata LX) and still have the panic button work? The panic button is recessed compared to the lock and unlock buttons so even without looking it doesn't take long to learn which is which. I like the fact that we have this feature; and it's easy to turn off the alarm by hitting the button again. Neil. |

No, you don't program the remote itself...you can program the 2004 remote's code into the older model receiver, but the panic function is not supported, so it wouldn't work. >On Thu, 05 Feb 2004 22:14:55 -0800, Robin <robinxjoy@yahoo.com> wrote: > >>In article <ZxyUb.409075$ts4.262848@pd7tw3no>, >> "Pete & Cindy" <range1@shaw.ca> wrote: >> >>> My 2004 Elantra GT has a panic button on the remote... nice if ya lose the >>> care in a big mall parking lot..;-) >>> >>> >>> >>> "Robin" <robinxjoy@yahoo.com> wrote in message >>> news:robinxjoy-4F1547.22174703022004@news.west.cox.net... >>> > I HOPE not! Find your car -- don't disturb everybody else who lives nearby, or the people who are just going about their business in the parking lot. -- nebula ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Posted via RealCarAudio.com - The checkmate of the caraudio community. http://www.RealCarAudio.com nebula's Profile: http://www.realcaraudio.com/forums/m...fo&userid=3891 View this thread: http://www.realcaraudio.com/forums/s...threadid=45858 |

Just pry it open and put a piece of adhesive tape on the circuit board just beneath the panic button. Then it will never work until you remove the tape. -- nebula ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Posted via RealCarAudio.com - The checkmate of the caraudio community. http://www.RealCarAudio.com nebula's Profile: http://www.realcaraudio.com/forums/m...fo&userid=3891 View this thread: http://www.realcaraudio.com/forums/s...threadid=45858 |
