Door panels on a 1999 1.5 Accent 2 door sport
Hi, I'm having problems removing the door panels on my wife's Accent sport (2
door, step down from the MVI). I've removed every screw and holder that I can see, but there appears to be an obstruction at the door mirror point. Can anyone tell me if there is another screw/fastner that I'm missing ??. I want to replace the window motors but can't even get started ! Also they don't sell the manuals in the UK ! Thanks in advance, Martin |

Hi, Martin.
The door panel can hang up on the triangular plastic trim by the mirror, so it may help to pull it off (if you haven't already done so). There is no screw there to my knowledge. I'd expect the trim to fasten in the same way as the U.S. vehicles. Grab an account at www.hmaservice.com and look at the stuff on the 1999 Accent there. Sometimes models are introduced in the rest of the world prior to the U.S., so if the 1999 Accent stuff doesn't look correct, you might want to look at the 2000 Accent instead. Also, I don't believe power windows were available in the U.S. on the 1999 Accent, so there's not likely to be anything about the switch or power window diagnosis in the manual. |

Re: Door panels on a 1999 1.5 Accent 2 door sport
I have a '96 Accent 2 door. When I removed the door panel, there was a
little plastic cover bezel by the mirror control arm. That piece is held on by a single, triangular little black clip, similar but different from the white plastic clips around the door panel. There are 3 or 4 little pieces of foam glued on to the inside of the plastic bezel, which help keep it from rattling around, I think. Anyway, I just pried it loose with my fingers, and it popped off. No damage, and no problems putting it back on later, either.
