First Gas Mileage Check on my Sonata
Hi All, I checked the gas mileage for the first time since I got my 6
cylinder Sonata. I got 21.4 MPG, all city driving. Not bad! I'll be taking a 400 mile freeway trip (one way) at the end of the month and I'll post the freeway mileage then. J.W. |

Re: First Gas Mileage Check on my Sonata
My 2004 Sonata V6 gets between 21-23 around town and 27-29 MPG on long trips
with minimal stops. In contrast, my 2001 Corvette, V8 (375hp), 6 speed, gets over 30 MPG on long trips with minimal stops. Shows what two good overdrive gears can do for gas mileage. Something like 1500 rpm at 70 MPH. Re: First Gas Mileage Check on my Sonata
Must be nice, the best I can get on my 6cyl GLS Sonata is about 18 mpg
city. On Tue, 13 Jul 2004 17:47:44 -0400, Jon W. <JWalker@yahoo34.com> wrote: >Hi All, I checked the gas mileage for the first time since I got my 6 >cylinder Sonata. On the way there (from Michigan to Illinois/Iowa border) I got 31.5 MPG and on the way back I got 30.8 MPG. The slight decrease on the way back is because I had me neice and her 2 children, along with their luggage with me. I figure the added weight was the reason. The car handled beautifully and I am very happy with the gas mileage, considering how sweet this car rides. J.W. |

You didn't say at what speed.

It is a '91 with the 3.3 in it. Turns in 30 around town and close to 38 on the highway. Not bad for a 4 door. This is running at 65-70 MPH as well. -----= Posted via Newsfeeds.Com, Uncensored Usenet News =----- http://www.newsfeeds.com - The #1 Newsgroup Service in the World! -----== Over 100,000 Newsgroups - 19 Different Servers! =----- |

Re: First Gas Mileage Check on my Sonata
Well, I kept it at 5 over the limit. Most of the way it was 75 MPH but
I would estimate that at least half of the way was either 70 MPH or 60 MPH. J.W. On Fri, 30 Jul 2004 11:22:31 -0400, "BillyGoat" <billy_1_goat@yahoo.com> wrote: >You didn't say at what speed. |
