Fuel gauge weirdness 01` Santa Fe
I bought a 2001 Santa Fe yesterday.It`s the 4 cyl 2 WD auto model.My gas
gauge showed 1/4 tank so I filled up.After about 7 gallons the pump stopped.I double checked to see if the tank was full and it was.The question is- unless the gauge is not working correctly, how can the car only take 7 gallons when 3/4 empty? I know that the Santa Fe has a 17.2 gallon tank...PS,the gauge didn`t go all the way to F when I filled up.It was close but not fully on F... |

We both had/have the exact same problem. For me, the problem was intermittant. The gauge would drop quickly so I would fill up and it would take some piddly amount. This would go on for a few days and then stop. The longest stretch was 2 weeks. I drove my dad's SF when I went home for vacation and noticed he had the same problem. He said that he just ignores it and that it's constant for him not intermittant. kaboomie |

Hi I have the same problem with my 94 Excel. The fuel gauge worked fine
until two months ago. it started to show the same problems as you described above. See following link: http://www.talkaboutautos.com/group/...ges/11801.html |
