getz fault

Hyundai Getz Vehicles
13-May-2004

The problem
Under certain conditions the ABS (Anti-Lock Brake System) warning light in
the instrument panel may come on and remain on. If the light is on then the
ABS will not work.

This will not affect the normal brake system and the vehicles will be safe
under normal braking.

Details
Hyundai Getz vehicles

VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) range:

From: A18AAKMHBT31HR3U022652

To: A18AAKMHBU51AR4U12680

From first date of manufacture to 24th September 2003.

What to do
Hyundai will contact owners of affected vehicles to arrange a suitable time
for free remedial work, taking about one hour.

For any further queries contact your Hyundai dealer by calling 0800 HYUNDAI
(0800 498 6324).

has anyone actually been contacted i got mine on 14th may and is within vin
number range and no contact.

Re: getz fault

Hi
My UK Getz was 1st registered in Feb 2003, and it has a different braking
fault. A 'knocking / rubbing' noise occurs from the rear passanger side when
braking at slow speeds. It has been back to dealer once but now been
reffered to Hyundai Korea for a fix. -- now been wating nearly 4 months
now..
Apparently they have a 'list' of affected customers

Been assured from main dealer that the car is still safe to drive and brakes
are working normally

Anyone else have this problem????
