I would like to know, if you believe that I can tow with a COACH ES (RV)an
Automatic Elantra 2002on his wheels (without troubles for the transmission)
for a long period 3 to 4 hours in a row. I did it from 2 to 3 hours 3 times
without problems the engine functioned at the neutral position (it seems to
me)...but I'm always nervous when I do it. ... The sealer does not
recommand...but does not say NO
I rely on your asistance
many tks from a french Canadian

Re: TO HYNDAITECH

Here's what I found. There's a tsb (00-00-004) on towing Santa Fe's with
all wheels on the ground. Since your trans/driveline is effectively
similar to the 2wd auto Santa Fe, I draw the conclusion that all warnings
for that vehicle apply to yours as well. The bulletin states "DO NOT TOW
any Santa Fe vehicle (2WD or 4WD) equipped with an automatic transaxle
with all four wheels on the ground behind another vehicle. Towing a Santa
Fe vehicle equipped with an automatic transaxle in this manner may
seriously damage the vehicle's transaxle."

You should also be able to find information in your owner's manual. If
you'd like to see this tsb, you can go to www.hmaservice.com. Select
service information and you can select all vehicles and all models.
