Jason - re XG350L

A boat?????? Are you crazy? :) It doesn't feel any larger than my
Accord, IF that large!! You scared me with the boat comment, I was so
relieved when I finally test drove it Saturday because I knew in my
heart of hearts that this was the model I would want. I'm so happy with
this car, Jason. I want to thank you for all your input the last few
months, even though you were wrong about the "boat" :)

Fair enough. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions. My "boat"
comment was derived from my experiences with the 2001 XG300 and 2002
XG350L vehicles that my mother owns (she let me borrow the 350 for a
couple days to give an extended test drive before I bought my 03
Sonata). I liked how the Sonata gave almost as much room but felt
much sportier (despite surrendering 0.8L under the hood).

For me, the Sonata felt noticeably smaller, but that's not a bad thing.
I like smaller cars also. I feel it LOOKS sportier but doesn't have the
zip to back it up (meaning the V6 auto trans).

(despite surrendering 0.8L under the hood).

I really noticed the difference in that .8L driving the Sonata followed
by the XG350.

I'll tell you what would be fun - the Sonata (whatever the series is for
the V6) but with manual transmission. THEN it would have felt sporty
with kick. If I ever get a windfall, I might just buy that one too.
Wouldn't it be fun to have a car that matched the mood you're in that
day?

Yeah, owning two vehicles would be nice but if I could ever afford a
Sonata and an XG at the same time I'd just buy a nicer $40,000 car.
Something like a Volvo S60R (if they ever get the auto tranny problems
fixed, right now, torque is artificially limited) or a BMW 530.
