Mass Airflow Sensor

Hi,

My wives 2005 Sonata's engine light came on the other day.. brought it to
Auto Zone and was told it was a P101/P102 error code, which is an "mass airflow
sensor". Could someone explain what this does???. Should it be fixed right away.
Is this part covered by warranty?

TIA,
Ron Clark

Re: Mass Airflow Sensor

This part does what the name would suggest, it measures the amount of air
going into the engine. The car will probably not run right if it's not
working properly.

The air flow sensor is covered by the 5 year/60k warranty.

Also check to see whether the bellows between the throttle body and the
air flow sensor has come loose. That can also cause air flow sensor
codes.
