My World Wants: An Hyundia and/or Kia Convertible
This is my subjective selfish suggestion:
Convertibles are snobby, expensive, and that's today's image. But wife wants another (had two VW convertibles during the 1990s), then ...why not an Hyundai knock-off of Mercedes, BMW, Ford T-Bird, Chrysler's, Pontiac's blah blah's. By-the-way: She likes her '05 Sonata's (back) imitation or Jaguar knockoff, but dislikes the '06 Sonata style (what's being imitated?). The Sonnata looks & handles well but has a starting problem which seems un-solvable. Yesterday, after I compliment a Santa Fe and say something about possibility of Kia, she tells me the new Santa Fe does look great, but bashes the Kia as looking-like "can-opener" could do it in. I can agree on the convertible. I'd have bought an Eclipse if it was just a bit more practical for my use. The new GM with a retractable metal top makes a lot of sense. FWIW, I bought an 07 Sonata because it did not look like an imitation anything. To me, it looked kind of fresh. Had they maintained the 05 styling I'd have bought an Altima. I did not want a Lacrosse because it looks too much like my LeSabre. I'd never buy a black or red car either, and very few white would be considered. I actually like a black car if it is perfectly clean and waxed, but I don' tlike it at least 70% of the time, especially in a snow region where most cars look filthy from December to March anyway. |

Re: My World Wants: An Hyundia and/or Kia Convertible
Coincidentally, our first or second car was a !970 Ford Maverick, red,
automatic. I think the price was about $2400 brandnew. The car's Firestone tires were recalled approx a year later. I wonder whatever happened to the Ford--Firestone relationsh.... Anyhow, not a great car: the Maverick, tho not as bad as: Subsequently, a new 1973 Pinto yellow wagon--YUK (alternator was unrepairable) Subsequently, a new 1976 Grenada that sorta stunk of gasolene/exhaust Ford made attractive cars that weren't very mechanically sound--whatever happened to For..., well I hope they'll recover by making a hybrid or whatever that everybody wants irwell wrote: > On Fri, 13 Oct 2006 20:12:10 GMT, "Edwin Pawlowski" <esp@snet.net> > wrote: > > > I'd never buy a black or red car either, > >and very few white would be considered. > > I had a 1970 white Maverick.
