Need advice about purchasing a 2004/2005 Hyundai Accent GLS 3DR

Hi,
I am planning on purchasing a new 2004/2005 Hyundai Accent. Can anyone give
me honest opinions about the reliability of the car please? I am a very
busy graduate student and am looking for a cheap car without the
headaches. Also, it snows here A LOT almost half the year. Do you think I
can survive on a Hyundai Accent for the next five years? Thanks in
advance for your advice.

I owned an 01 and my wife owns an 02. These are excellent economy cars
for the price. They do pretty well in the snow because the tires are
so skinny but just like any other 2 wheel drive car you have to take it
slow.

Although the car is big enough for commuting or driving with a
passenger it can get 'small' on long trips. It is definatley not a
family car which is why I had to trade our of the 01

I bought a used 2001 Accent in July, and it has been running fine as a
commuter car. Here's the issue: I bought it for $5000 (before taxes/fees)
for a 4dr auto w/ AC, 1.6l (GL) model from a *dealer*. This is from a year
where AC and the 1.6l engine are "extra". If you are looking for a budget
car that you expect to trade in later, can you afford to lose over half its
original value in 3 years?

It's a good quality econobox. It probably won't have the long-term quality
you'd get out of Toyota or Honda, but I'd put it well ahead of the Focus,
Neon, or any other "American" econobox. The other poster is on the money
on the trade value. Don't expect much.
