My car has been in the shop seven times and it is still not fixed. Do
not buy this car unless they promise to replace it if it is in more
than three times. Go look at the Accord and Camry before you buy.

Don't get me wrong.... I WANTED to like this car. It has beautiful
styling and is so roomy it just has been into the dealer so many times
that I have just about given up on it. I am definitley looking at the
Honda Accord as soon as I resolve issues with this XG. Ths Honda is
superior is every way and, right now, Honda is finally dealing. I
could get a fully loaded V6 Accord (less the Navigation) for EXACTLY
the price I paid for the XG and I got a very good deal on the XG. Keep
looking and don't only shop for price, shop for retained value and
quality. Take a look at what used XG's are going for now, they devalue
SO QUICKLY.

So yes, every now and then a Lemon shows up. But it helps to have a
good dealer.

I read CR and Edmunds.com to find reviews of the XG - the majority of
them were positive. Some of them were poor because of the dealerships.

Any kind of car we choose to buy is a gamble.

Re: XG350

Have had my 2002 XG 350L since Feb 2002, just shy of 14,000 miles. My wife
drives it most of the time, but the only complaint I had was the throttle
surge from stop issue. It was dealt with at the 1st oil change and ceases
to be a problem.

If you're interested in interior room, and don't want an SUV, the XG is
great for the price. Component quality isn't "best in class", but it's well
assembled using the parts that they used. The Accord and Camry are not in
this vehicle size class either. You'll realize this immediately when you
sit in one or open the trunk. Both are VERY nice cars though. You should
compare the XG with the Toyota Avalon for size, it's also thousands $$$$$$
more, or a used E-class MB (not comparing quality here, just size and
features). Honda had/has nothing to compare unless you go and SUV. Been a
happy Honda owner for 20 years, but they don't have anything this size in a
car--also the Pilot wasn't out anyway when I bought the XG.

Re: XG350

The Pilot is also several thousand dollars more than the XG350, again
offsetting the attractiveness of the Honda
