Repair information.
 

Hello everyone! I found a link that might be helpful for some people with
Hyundai's. It is an online repair manual interface for Hyundai's. For
those who don't already know of it's existence. Here it is :

.. If that doesn't work just go to the http://www.hyundaiusa.com/ web page
and scroll down to the Hyundai Web Tech words in blue and click on them and
you will have access to a pretty good online manual. This is what it says
below Web Tech: WebTech is the online version of the InfoTech service
information system used by Hyundai Dealers. It contains a wealth of
information about your Hyundai, and is a great resource for technicians and
mechanics. Please note: WebTech requires Microsoft Internet Explorer to use.
Any way this is my second posting and hopefully some help for those in need
and those trying to answer my previous question.

How can they require Microsoft ?


There isnt any technology that MS invented, at any time, that isnt easily
copied by its competitors.

There is lots that isnt copied because its worthless junk technology, buts
irrelevant.

That just means that site was designed for Microsoft's Internet Explorer. Other
browsers, like Netscape, etc. should work ok, but sometimes there are
differences in the way browsers display things, or interpret code. So, relax.
Use whatever browser you want. Just don't be surprised if something doesn't
work exactly right.

The last time I looked at Hyundai's webtech board, the "web designers"
had used client-side VBScript. This is not supported in Mozilla or
Safari, so even if you fake your User-Agent header, you don't see the
dropdown boxes for the model and year of the car you're trying to look
up, or the tree menus for the returned results.

The actual information on the Hyundai site is in the form of PDFs and/or
HTML documents, which you can read on any platform. It's just the
interface for finding the information you want that only works in
Internet Exploder. I'd like it if you could access the information on
their site as a dumb file tree, but they apparently don't want that....

Bahaha, they do a check and tell you to get lost if you dont use IE.

well they are Hyundai, arent they....
