Sonata ventilation
Just had some work done on my 3lt V6 '98 Sonata (engine and
transmission gaskets replaced and windscreen washer bottle replaced). Problem I now have is that the air from the dash vents only comes out to the windscreen and not to any other vents. Before I take it back to see the mechanics who did the work is there anything simple I could check for? (As the repairs were done by different mechanics I would like to know which one may have been more likely to have left something disconnected so I can go back there). Remove one each of the double letters if replying by email. |
Re: Sonata ventilation
check all vacuum pipes from the intake manifold are connected.

Re: Sonata ventilation
In particular, you're looking for the vacuum line that goes through the
firewall. |
Re: Sonata ventilation
Thanks for responding..... but can you give me a hint on where to look
in the engine bay for this line? top/bottom/left/right? Where should I see this line? Re: Sonata ventilation
Had a good look around and could find nothing that looked as though it
should be connected. Took it back to the mechanic and it took him about 20 minutes to find that he had cross connected 2 vacuum lines. Working fine now.
