Towing Santa Fe
Hi
I don't have easy access to Hyundai dealership or sales information. Can 4WD Santa Fe with auto transmission be towed behind RV ( four wheels down)? Thank You! Dave W |
Re: Towing Santa Fe
Never tow an automatic transmission 2WD or 4WD! Very few cars with
autos can be towed. What happens is the transmission is trunring with the wheels but there is no lubrication (no transmission pressure). You MAY be able to find a "disconnect" for the hubs, check a 4WD shop or do a google search for "hyundai 4wd free hub" and you'll find pages such as this: http://www.4x4wire.com/isuzu/tech/manualhubs/ On 23 Jun 2003 00:11:53 GMT, peterh5322@aol.comminch (Peter H.) wrote: > >>> >Can 4WD Santa Fe with auto transmission be towed behind RV (four wheels down)? >>> > >No, it must be transported with all wheels off of the road. |

In the SF case, hubs would be required on all wheels, presuming, of course, that all are full-floating, which I strongly doubt. |
Re: Towing Santa Fe
THE 4WD - ALL WHEEL DRIVE CANNOT BE TOWED WITH ALL WHEELS ON THE GROUND.
