Two Hyundai Family

I guess we're serious Hyundai believers now, after having a previously
mentioned '02 bare bones Sonata and accumulating nearly 80,000 trouble-free
miles on it in a year and a half, we went out and got the Missus what she's
been wanting for some time now. Yesterday we traded in her '02 Saturn L300
and got an '04 Santa Fe LX 3.5 AWD with pretty much all the toys. Only
things missing from the option list, I think, would be running boards and
..... well, that might be it.

Color is new for '04 moonlit blue and, for a station wagon, it is steenkin
gorgeous. I'm not crazy about SUVs but she's pined over a Santa Fe since we
saw one in the showroom when we got the Sonata, there wasn't any changing
her mind. And if she's happy, I'm happy.

Dealership was Fitzgerald Auto Mall in Gaithersburg, MD and the buying
process was pretty painless. We were there longer than we wanted, but only
had to have a couple numbers explained to us and everything was good. Fitz
posts their delivered price that's under MSRP and on less high-demand models
is usually a couple grand below MSRP, but on Santa Fes isn't a monstrous
discount. Still, we got this one, stickered at 26,949, for 24,765 and then
we got another 1K off for being an existing Hyundai owner. They built the
negative equity from the Saturn trade into the loan and got us out the door
for payments that we're pretty happy about.

The Missus is in absolute orbit over her new ride, says she'll hang onto it
for quite some time, I don't find it terriby offensive even though it's not
my kind of ride (I spent a lot of time ogling 6-speed Tiburons), and we're
happy with the dealership and our salesman. If you want a car from there and
want a recommendation for a salesman, email me off the list and I'll hook
you up.

Now if I could only get that Tiburon, also in moonlit blue, we'd probably
get a mention in the Hyundai owner's magazine, get rich and famous, have the
company provide us with free cars for life, and live happily ever after.

Glad to know how much you like your Hyundai's!

We are a three Hyundai family! Got the older daughter the Elantra GLS
(black) in 2001. Got the younger daughter the Elantra GT 5-door (lt. grey)
for graduation May, 2003....and I just got the XG350L (dk grey) a couple of
months ago.

Outstanding value for the money. Highly recommended!

Yeah, my wife too... we're on our third Hyundai and when she gets her Santa
Fe, that will bring us to four.

Re: Two Hyundai Family

hehe sup Claf!?! :) I bought my 03 Tiburon V6 there back in July. I
went looking at the Santa Fe, test drove a base model and didn't really like
it. I walked by the Tiburon on the way back to the sales floor and saw the
ticket price was the same, though it had many more options on it, plus it
looked pretty sweet. I test drove the 6 speed, and ended up settling on a 5
speed that came with everything but ABS (which I don't like anyway). THe
sales process there was great, and the service dept. is awesome due to
Hyundai's surveys putting pressure on the dealership to perform. I get
treated like a king in there sometimes. lol
