Wheel Alignment on '07 Tucson (4WD)
I'm told by my mechanic that 3 of the 4 wheels on my 10-months-old '07, 4WD
Tucson require alignment. He also says that, normally, only the toe-in is adjustable on Hyundais, but that there is a $90/wheel kit on the after-market that would allow camber adjustment as well. Does that sound reasonable/un-reasonable to anyone on this list? Thanks! |

Thanks! Camber is easily adjusted by ovaling out the holes where the strut bolts go through. -- -Mike- mmarlowREMOVE@alltel.net |

Thanks! I recently had my '05 Tibutron's fron end aligned at Firestone, and they charged me $45.00 to grind the holes to a slot in order to adjust the camber. Bill |
Re: Wheel Alignment on '07 Tucson (4WD)
How did they determine the alignment angles were out of spec?
How many miles do you have on the car? Alignment is covered 1 year/12k miles, presuming you haven't done/hit anything that would affect alignment. Camber adjustments are only reasonable if the camber is out of spec, and only then if it's significantly out of spec. Minor camber issues won't cause significant tire wear/life issues, and their effect will be near zero if tires are regularly rotated. The most you're likely to experience is a small pull to one side or the other (wheel turns a small amount on its own if hands off wheel). -- Message posted using http://www.talkaboutautos.com/group/alt.autos.hyundai/ More information at http://www.talkaboutautos.com/faq.html |
