while i doubt a camry is running 13's, the v6 does run 14's.. which is good enough to whoop a 250 ninja (which runs mid 15's)

I just found it hard to believe they would have enough space to go flat out, a 250, while not huge would for sure rock him from the start, and while it may be faster in the 1/4, I find it hard to find a open stretch of road that long these days. And what some consider a "race" is very differnt then what others call a race, idkjust saying. Find it hard to beleive. And no, if the camry ran 13's then it would be like the biggest car since the model t, I know 300rwhp mustangs that just break 13.

do have any idea how fast (or should i say slow?) a 250 bike is? they only have 30 hp and run 0-60 in the high 7's and finish the quarter mile in 15.7@88 mph..... with a professional rider as per cycle world magazine. A 250 is typically ridden by newbies, who likely dont know how to ride that well either.

I find it very easy to believe that a 250 got beat by a camry. From a start, ill put my money on an automatic camry that anyone could launch over a beginner on a small displacement bike. Its not like he said he raced a gsxr 1000 or r1 and won....

Browntown_01 11-15-2008 02:18 PM

As per Motocycle news, http://www.motorcyclenews.com/MCN/bikereviews/searchresults/Bike-Reviews/Kawasaki/Kawasaki-250R-Ninja-2008-current/ and best beginner motorcycles.com http://www.bestbeginnermotorcycles.com/kawasaki-ninja-250-review the 250r completes 0-60 in 5.75 seconds (depending on the year) out of about 5 sources only cycle world says its high 7's. Even still Toyota it's self claims the camry will reach 60 in about 7 seconds.

Regardless of the facts, you are proabaly correct, what it comes down to is that someone is out on the streets racing cars in a 2007 toyota camry...

Yah.. I was thinking the same thing. I wonder if the OP's parents know that he is racing with their car.

agreed v8mike... stupidity! Please drive a camry the way in which it was intended, by which I mean to get groceries and go to work. thanks

just saying i have/had a 250 hyosung and i raced a friends saab 9-3 the 4-door one it was boosted stock and tell u the truth i killed him on the take off obviously he got me pretty soon but if u race from stand still the 250 will kill cause its exremly easy to takeof and its ultra light only 280lbs with full tank.

Im guessing this was your first bike... trust me.. it feels faster than it really is. One day, take it to a drag strip and tell me what your 60 ft and 330 ft time is. Its not launching nearly as hard as you think it is.

lol same thing im wondering

that car is no quicker then 6.3s 0-60 forget 13s LOL

It's decent for a 4 door FWD sedan but it's nowhere near as fast you're saying it is lol.

Lowest recorded 0-60 I know if is 5.8s.

When the cars had just come out some chick ran a 14.3 bone stock, with the MXV4 all seasons, and traction control on.

Traction off there were a couple guys claiming 14.0s and 14.1s. With a good tire that's capable of minimal wheelspin on a good launch, I could MAYBE believe a 13.9 under perfect conditions and perfect track preperation.

I've got one myself for a daily driver and even though it's nowhere near fast, it's a fair bit quicker than the previous gen's 3.3L, and it surprises everyone that goes for a boot in it. I've never taken this particular car to the strip but the closest thing to a valid time I could claim is me vs. my buddy's 3rd gen Camaro that was lightly modified and ran a 13.9, had me by 2 car lengths at the end when we did a roll from 40kmh-200kmh, traction off, minimal wheelspin. The car is limited at 228kmh at which it still has a bit of pull left.

It's sweetspot is on the highway, from a standstill it kinda goes like a bag of until about 3,000rpm or so, but by then either traction control is kicking in or if that's off, the factory all seasons start breaking traction.

Hey, I've drove newer toyota's and I've found they all have a cut off at 195 kph. Is yours chipped??

sp000lin 12-29-2008 01:40 AM

The V6 Camry's are capped at 228kmh.

Fresh_Prince 12-30-2008 12:21 AM

I dont think so, maybe those bikes didnt know the Camry wants to race.

have you ridden a 250 ninja at the drag strip?

it wouldnt make a lick of difference if the bikes knew the camry wanted to race or not.... a 250 ninja with the typical owner will be lucky to see 15s. its not beating a v6 camry in a drag race. thats the bottom line. but then again, what do I know... i have never had the pleasure of owning a 250 cc bike.... just 2 600's, a gsxr 750 and currently an R1.
