2.5 rs vs some sort of vw

not really a kill storry still ok .....

on 427 south around where it cuts thru 401 ...couple nice turns ....

i was just minding my bussiness when this light blue vw started to follow me so i punched it and we both went pretty fast thru those turns ...i lost him near the end ...well i thought i did untill i heard phsfft and he flew by me ...almost killing himself when some dumb ass in an old pick up truck just jumped in his lane ....anybody here ?

i just wanna know what kind of a car was it .

rabbitman 09-14-2005 08:27 PM

Mine rabbit was black. But could easily take a 2.5 RS.

joe_black 09-14-2005 08:35 PM

maybe it would ...but i still rather drive my car in winter on gravel in rain or on the twisties ......but what models vw came with turbo ? that thing was 4 door looked fairly old, had nice rims ...it was leaving brampton going on qew west.

rabbitman 09-15-2005 06:21 PM

The only factory turbo VW's were diesels. As for the twisties, not much can beat a Rabbit with no front sway bar, the rear axle squared off, and nuespeed sofsports with Bilstein adjustables. Add to that 2l 16v with t3 turbo, and an evo can barely keep up through the slalom. Trust me. I've done it. With Kumho 712's 195 45R/15 tires. However, add gravel, and I would much rather have your car. I've driven a WRX on snow, and WHAT A BLAST!!!!! Love those things.

That's an audi motor, and they can have it back. By the sounds of it the car he's looking for was an older one. The 1.8t engine wasn't available until the mk3 20 th anniversary GTI if I remember correctly.

it's an audi motor sure but it still came factory for VW's

doesnt take much to beat a 2.5rs
dont get me wrong, imprezas r nuts, but the 2.5 isnt that fast

Blown_mx5 01-10-2006 07:31 PM

A rabbit would kill a RS in the twisites and on a track there is nothing that handles like a 1700LB car esp with good suspension

rabbitman 01-10-2006 08:56 PM

Especially when it had no front sway bar, the rear axle boxed, Bilstein adjustables, and Neuspeed sofsports.

Blown_mx5 01-10-2006 09:02 PM

My buddy has a well built one and he hangs with my BOOSTED miata on a track. He has close to 300 WHP

2TONE_93GT 01-10-2006 09:02 PM

Neighbour has a RS.. i think it looks hot.. didnt know they were :knock_tee

Oh well... not like i was going to buy one anytime soon, but i always was curious about his

joe_black 01-11-2006 09:34 AM

..lol ....still would rather drive my 2.5 rs rather than a rabbit.
even if the rabbit had no sway bar, rear axle boxed ..etc .... or i could just put stiffer springs on the the rs do an engine swap and prolly still loose to the rabbit on the straight or the twisties. According to the numbers my gfs 95 integra is faster than my car , ive driven both of the cars many times and guess what ..i still like my subaru better. I bought the car because i like the way it looks and i do enjoy a nice drive on some gravel, mud road once in a while......so my point is if i wanted a car that goes fast in a straight line, i would have bought a stang, but i wanted an awd drive car, and this is the best bang for the buck, untill i can afford an sti........
