89 Acura Legend VS. 94 Civic SI
So, the Legend is auto and completly stock as of now, my friend got his 94 civic si and it went down, the only time he was ahead of me was after he shifted to second and the auto had not yet reached rpms to shift, once it shifted up, I was gone and he was left behind. I love Honda V6's, oh and civic was stock other than ram air and fuel pressure regulator, so pretty much a stock race. still fun for the new legend, but we had a nice clear country road to race on.

regulator was on the civic, and yes the legend will go at some point for serious project car, come on, I work for Honda, the legend is a winter vehicle. I have summer plans. but the race was just for shits

Care to share some of those summer plans? :salook: yeah, I don't mind sharing plans but will post later tonight when I have more time. and to "stealthZ", I know about intakes, but if you know then you would know that it doesn't matter what intake you have unless you have a cold air, its the only one that really adds anything to your car, or are you one of those guys that thinks you can get 10 or more HP just from an intake. |

Actually cold air intakes dont give that much power either. No intake does unless your car is running mad power, then you might be able to notice a difference.
In my opinion, best intake is the comptech icebox style. |
yeah, thats what I was saying, it doesn't matter what type of intake, on stock, doesn't make any difference, and 2 16sec cars are fun if thats all you have out right now.

Calm down guys, why fight over intakes? Its a tube with a filter on it. All you need to understand is that an intake by itself is not a major power adder, but its part of a crucial foundation that must be upgraded when modding your car.
CAI revolves around a very good idea of supplying the engine with cold air. Unfortunatly they dont do it very efficiently. In addition, the length of the cold air tube means it takes longer for air to reach your engine. Thats why I said the compteh icebox style intakes are the best. I made my own custom version of it. It has a tube extended from the throttle body, to an airbox, in which there is a cone filter. So in a sense it acts like a short ram with a heatshield. Then there is a second tube running to the bottom of the airbox to the bumper. That tube sucks in cold air from the enviroment. And to finish it off the whole piece is coated with ceramic to repel heat. The theory behind it I guess would be that you get the instant response of a SRI, but with the ability to draw in cold air. And the ceramic ensures it stays as cold as possible. And yet, on its own, there is not much of a difference, because an intake is a supporting mod. |
I'm pretty sure people who get cai dont do it for street cred its done for better performance than short rams...
