91 MR2 vs. 300ZX TT (90-92ish)
 

I moved out from Alberta about a year ago and just picked up my dream MR2. I was going for a cruise and I was driving down the 401 (scared shitless, PS) and I turned off onto the 410. My car is a black MR2, lowered, with rims. No bodykit, no FMIC (upgraded SMIC... heh), nothing that screams "boy racer". I'm just chillin on the 410, duck out onto Bovaird. As I'm going down the ramp this clown in a early-90s 300ZX TT blows past me, nails the brakes when he sees my car, and then gets beside me at the lights in front of Trinity Common.

My car does around a 13.5-13.7 in the quarter depending on the day and the tires that I'm using. Now, unless he's modified I know I'm going to take him out, maybe not hard, but pull on him- I've eaten many 300ZX TT's.

So I keep shaking my head- not worth my time. I've heard a lot of this "crush law" here, and I sure as hell don't want my Deuce crushed. To hell with that.

We get to the next set of lights and he's revving the piss out of it and letting off his BOV. I laugh, rev up, and let out one or two BOV's myself. Light turns green and he just BOOKS it. I take off aggressively, maybe half throttle, and hit about 15 over the limit (75 or so). Of course, he's gone. I drove past him, pulled over by the OPP, and waved.

LOL niiiiice.

You could not have hung with him anyways, a stock 300zx TT has more TQ than your hp. you could eat a N/A but not a TT, sorry. BTW what are your mods if you can run a 13 in the 1/4

you must have some nice mods to be running a little over a second fast than stock

1990 Nissan 300ZX Twin Turbo 14.10 s stock and the 300zx is alot heavier, i personally dont think you have "eatin any TTZ"

LOL I've eaten quite a few, as my car is far from stock.

I'm running:

+ GenIII JDM Turbo motor (245HP stock) - 13.7-13.9 in Japan (dunno what that is here)
+ Greddy SMIC and piping.
+ 13 psi
+ Intake + exhaust combo
+ 255 lph fuel pump
+ Kevlar clutch + lightened fidanzi flywheel
+ Suspension (Tein)

All in all I'm running at least 290 to 300 horsepower. Just because my MR2 takes out 300ZX's doesn't mean you have to get all defensive there bud. The 13.7 that I ran was one of my first times on a track- I'm sure I could get even lower than that (13.5 maybe?).

Now that makes more sense, i was assuming that all you had was smic and suspension upgrade *from your post* I wasnt getting all offensive just pointing out facts from what your post told me your car had.

Fair enough- once you get your Z give me a shout (always love rippin' around with 300 HP cars).

London isn't terribly far from me, you and any friends ever get together and hang out im looking for something to do around here, i just moved up from the states.

I'm not a fan of MKIII Supra's, even with a 2.5L twin turbo. I'd get the 300ZX, but that's just personal preference. LOL I just put the MR2 into storage (I don't want rust on this baby), but I'm still driving around in a 1997 Probe GT :P

Sure thing :) In January the car is being sent out to Calgary for some serious tuning and turbo work, so come race season next year she'll be right around 400 whp :)

But I'm sure your Supra can keep up :smilie_da

I made 270whp like your car has back when i first put the car on the road, that of course is before i started getting serious about modifying it :headbang:
