96 Windstar vs Infiniti FX

back in august,i took my mom's old windstar for its weekly cruise down the lakeshore
just to keep it drivable...i'm not afraid to beat the living out of my cars and in case of the windstar it actually helps:smilie_da

so on a sunny afternoon at the spadina on ramp to the gardiner i came across a guy in a Fx series i doubt it was a fx45 but couldnt see the badge anyways.
The light turns green and i boot it...tires spin a bit but quickly gain traction
as i rev over 3500 rpm that beasty 3.8 sounds like a big block and you can definetly feel and hear the air getting sucked in.Shifts to second gear and once again quickly pulls hard with authority at the same time i hear the unmistakable VQ exhaust note right next to me redlining as his revs drop and realize he slowly creeps up to me and on to the on ramp

so i got owned but had him for a good 2-3 seconds from the very start i realy dont know how low my 1st gear is but i was very impressed i even kept up a second with such vehicle
even tho past 3rd gear i had no hope whatsoever.

dont take this as a ricey attempt to race fellow motorists...i wasnt even picking a run or anything i just wanted to put a lil stress on the drivetrain to keep it running smoothly

FX35 runs 15's IIRC, FX45 is very low 14's IIRC.

The bigger displacement american V6 vehicles pull nice off the line, I'll give them that much.

sounded like a bigblock? lmao you obviously dont know what a big block sounds like...atleast you had fun though

Fresh_Prince 01-20-2009 05:47 PM

^thats the kind of reply i would expect from a big block owner lol
i dont mean to compare you're engine next to some pos junker or anything
but coming out my VQ power nissan and vtecs and what not...the sound of a good old pushrod
shrieking off the line is as i could get

and btw yes i've heard big blocks before and even ride in a few back in my coop days
