yeah man thanks for the welcome....

I'm hoping to get out to the track this year to take on the new c6 Z06. I should be able to take it, and I also finally got slicks. So the 12.36 is going down.

I finished my engine about 4 years ago. 2l 16v with Garret t3 and Buick GN intercooler. Head is done to Oettinger 16v specs. Head was sent to California to be done. I'm not sure if it's the exact head I sent, but it's still a kr code from a 2l 16v GTi. The bottom end is passat, but has been balanced, knife edged, and braced to handle 25+ psi. This is pretty straight forward and can be done at any good machine shop. Cam are available online from Shrick or Neuspeed. I know there are others, but I've got Shricks in mine. Huge fuel pump with Greddy boost controled regulator. Most if the work done is straight forward, but the parts need to be matched. It unfortunately idles like a diesel because of the cams, but the torque was worth it. Do you have a 2l 8v or 16v? The 8v is not worth it generally. I'd swap in a VR6 or 2l 16v depending on the year of your car.

If you want to keep that engine, you're best bet is a turbo. The 2l 8v has lots of torque, but high end hp is almost non exsistant. Try Kinetic Motorsports
Or Neuspeed If neither of them has anything for the 2l 8v try HPA Motorsports HPA is a long shot since they primarily deal with the R32 drivetrain. But they might have a kit you can use.
Personally, if you like that car, I would swap in a 2l 16v or a VR6. Both these engines are far superior to the 2l 8v.
