First of all... The forum rules are VERY clear about racial comments... So this is your one and only warning regarding the nazi comment.

LOL VR6 driving wish I had a BMW driver.
Hmmm... I've owned both cars thanks fool.

You're right I wasn't at the race, so what's your point? Would it have changed the outcome of the race? No... so shut it.

Yea, I have a problem with domestics... They have ignorant owners (yourself is a prime example) not that other brands don't, but since u'r such a domestic fan and your acting like a 12 year old I thought it would be fitting. Plus I don't like them, because they're cheap (looking, feeling, fit)... There's really only 1 or 2 domestics what I would ever consider buying the rest are all shitbox's IMO.

And I don't need spelling lessons from someone who can't even make coherent sentances or spell words properly for that matter, just because I missed one letter. But if that's all your sorry ass has to point and make fun at, then go ahead make u'rself look stupid(er).

And just because I live in NA doesn't mean I have to like domestics... Especially when the Japanese and Europeans make a IMO superior product. :smilie_au

hahha whatever buddy.American build quality is 50% better then euro.Look it up for yourself.Thats also why euros sell SOOO many cars over here.Go find the top ten best sellers in north america.

I think I see a typo. What he means to say is American Build quality is 50% of the quality Euro's have.

Listen im not sure who yours trying to preach this stuff too but its falling on deaf ears. I own a 89 FORD mustang and the quality of car is no where near close to some of the imports i have owned and neither are the parts. I am a domestic lover by heart and cannot live without my 8cyl 302 but realistically speaking the cars and parts dont compare to some import or euro made cars and thats a fact.

If you want proof ask any one that works at a domestic car plant and see what they drive, my mother is a headhunter for ford, chevy, toyota, honda etc etc and most of all the engineers, plant managers and even linesman either drive imports or wish they had. Top selling cars dont mean lets be honest.....but if you really want to go there....

1. Volkswagen Beetle, 1937
21 million made

2. Toyota Corolla, 1963
20 million

3. Ford Model T, 1908
15.5 million

4. Volkswagen Golf/Rabbit, 1974
15 million

5. Lada Riva, 1970
13.5 million

I only see one domestic car on that list and it was made almost 100 years ago.

Every domestic car plant has a shitload of there own brands in the employes parking lot I know this I worked at the oshawa truck plant.Half of the VEEDUBS from the 80s are all falling apart.Piss poor wheel wheel cover design that breaks after 3 winters and iron makes for a rusty ass pile of crap.Ask any mechanic that worked on all sorts of cars in the 80s.The caprice ,monte carlo, cutlass supreme and regal were all very reliable cars thats why there are so many on the roads today. In fact most of what detroit put out from the begining was very reliable. Were are all the import antiques? how many 1970 honda civics does barret jackson auction off? 90% of that is american cars.A numbers matching 1970 Hemi CUDA is worth more then 10 VW beetles.Face it the late 80s and 90s were a bad time for domestic cars in build quality but they are turning around a prime example of this is the chrysler 300 series.Domestic brands also own large shares in alote of Import brands.

mazdubber 04-19-2005 04:13 PM

I suppose it doesn't matter that the Chrysler 300 was designed and produced under the watchful eyes of Germans.

Not really.. since the car is still cheaper in $$$, so they have to cut quality of materials somewhere.... and thats mainly on the interior.

Have you even sat in one? It's soo nasty... I could have out a better looking interior, and the ultra flimsy plastic panels everywhere :smilie_da

You'll never get a $60k car for $40k it just doesn't work

dosent seem to be affecting the sales. They just added a third shift to meet the demand of the 300 series at the brampton plant.Reviews have raved about the car overall.Which dosent happen very often.Yeha those watchful germans who looked over the shoulders of chrysler engineers in the 50s and 60 when the HEMI was designed :ohwell:

LOL...if you think that the new HEMI's are engineered the same as the original ones you need to open a book. Not to mention that the Germans are pushing the retro stuff because they want to make money in what is chryslers only market. And yes the interior quality is lacking. But as for overall build quality it seems to be a winner for a domestic. Then again, history would prove that the North American market has not exactly shown any interest in build quality until recently.

Z28 MeTaL HeAd 04-21-2005 09:57 AM

a good example of build quality for the domestics are the Cobalt, Pursuit and G6....they actually have nice interiors....

Ive been in and worked on lots of cars...i would NEVER say imports r more reliable than domestics....yea, i seen stock D15 civics with almost 400,000 on the ODO...but ive seen stock SBC's with over 550,000....theres reason's why cabs and cops etc use these american cars....

Cheap to fix and maintain, and plenty reliable...

With that said....i got no problems with imports...i really dont...i just dont like how ppl. r biased to the point where they say all domestics r blah blah blah based on the interior...i hope ur proud of ur new found interior, we dont drive around Camaro's and T/A for the Interior, or the Mustang for its Interior....
