Goat gives back to LTx community: GTO-LS2 vs. WS6-LT1

Once again, driving the car for about 20 to 30 minutes and I get a solid bite from a (2006 ?) LS2 GTO 6 speed. The car had exhaust and cold air kit and that was all I got out of the guy at the stop-light. While traveling the service road towards Frisco & 121 a nice and clean 6spd GTO decides the LTx needs to be schooled with proper manners. We take off from the stop-light and play cat & mouse for a second and I shift into 2nd gear and get into just a little bit to see what he will do, GTO immediately jumps on his car and I hear a very healthy roar coming from the goat. He backs down off the throttle and somewhat sqares up. I think he was trying to scare the LTx car into submission, and it almost worked (Goat sounded very good !). As we throw jabs back and forth for at least an 1/8 of a mile (me getting into a little then he would), but not jumping on it at the same time. It was kind like feeling up a hot chick just to make sure her goods are as hot as they seem to be before you make a play for the final offer. :) So, we pull up to the next light as the first two cars and he immediately ask me what I have done to the car. I respond with "just a bolt-on LTx car with some suspension mods". He say, "It sounds pretty healthy" and I reply, " so does yours, let go from a first gear roll and you do the 3 honks" he complies and agrees.

Light goes green we roll out across the intersection, my car in 1st @ 3000 rpm's and he begins the horn salute (beep, beep, beep) BOOM, LTx gives off a healthy rush in 1st gear exacting pain on the LS2 to the tune of a 3/4 car (his nose at my tail) at the top of 1st gear (6200 rpm's). 2nd gear begins the persession of the LTx giving another dose of old school GEN II power. I put at least another 3/4 car (his nose somewhere about a car back, smash 3rd gear (@6100) and begin another pull and get out of it. He immediately slows and takes a right into the movie theater and I continue on. I was very happy with the results of that encounter, in all fairness the guy seemed very cool and willing to run. Just to make sure the LSx crowd knows I have respect; I'm not saying I slap around LS cars, but tonight I had my way :)

On the way home I had a quick encounter just for fun with an old school Integra GSR 2 door with some motor work. We jumped on it through 1st and a portion of 2nd and got out of it. I was already way out (not really a fair race for him), but he instigated it :) They pulled up to the light and said "Damn nice T/A, that thing sounds sick !" He told me they just wanted to see how it ran, that's why we rev'd and tried to race you. I said " I thought so, but It was an excuse to just get into it ! ". We both laughed and light turned green (gave each other the thumbs up) and rolled off.

Hope you enjoyed another short story from the DF-Dub (Dallas) :**
