GSR turbo vs. Jetta GLS
 

this happened about a month ago, i was going west on HWY 7 just after Jane st. and i stop at a red light, this very nice looking black jetta with tints pulls beside me, when the light turned green i wasnt sure we were gonna go, but then i heard tire screech and quickly revved it up and went. in first we were really close but then once we hit second i started gaining on him, and in third i was probably 3-4 cars ahead. he was really cool about it and we talked for a few seconds and gave each other the thumbs up. I'm not really sure what he had but he was definetly modified (at least a little). it was a really fun race, its always fun to race someone whos not a total ass.

BTW i have a 97' integra GSR with a stock motor and a big 16G turbo on 7 pounds.

yea the setup is pretty sweet, hopefully we can get together at the next DSM meet or even at Yuri's shop sometime and you can see it, but more important i wanna see your beast, Yuri told me a lot about it.

what? does that mean 2.0? this one was definetely 1.8T, from what i read the GLS only came 1.8T, so i dont know what you're talking about.

well the fact that you called it a GLS means to me that you were talking about a MKIII Jetta GLS (since they're the only ones that actually said GLS on the back) and they were only 2L's...

If your talking about the MKIV body style, it's quite possible the 1.8T came in a trim level GLS... but they're not badged as GLS's, they're badged as a 1.8T... so I don't know why you'd say you raced a GLS? Just say you raced a 1.8T.

you're right, it wasnt a GLS it was a GLI, i confused the two, it had a red GLI badge. 6 speed 1.8T, with exhaust, chip and some other stuff. for some reason i had GLS in my head.

oh, and i'll get some pics over the weekend.
