GTI MK5 VS Honda prelude

Well I have a DSG vw gti mkv with apr stage 2 and some other mods, pushing around 280-290 hp to the crank. This honda prelude was done up nicley no fart can, a nice exaust and looks like it was done up properly not like a ricer like most of the cars on here. Wasn't even a competition but I didnt expect it to be but atleast he was a good sport, he gave me a honk and a friendly wave wile passing me when I was turning.

Talk about bs, your b16teg can't even run 14sec 1/4mile, so i wouldn't talk.
If you can beat a prelude, then it was probably a base model f22 or h23. Don't mess with h22 sr-v.

my buddy's eg civic beat an h22 lude by about 2 or 3 lengths. it was the most recent (OBD-II) bodystyle lude and it had a CAI and fart can. his civic ran 15.5 at St Thomas. i run 15.2 @ 90mph at shannonville. i have a 1st gen LS motor with short ram, fart can, punched cat (w/stock 1-3/4 pipe) and I have 410 thou on my motor, basically a shitty setup. ludes are nice cars, but theyre nothin special stock. point being you dont have to run 14s to beat an h22 lude.

96lude_srv 07-31-2006 08:12 AM

^^you do if your racing my lude, i ran 14.9 at st.thomas. Im aiming for 13.9 next summer for on my new motor and gutted interior

you do know St Thomas times are always faster than other tracks. the traction there is amazing. take ur lude to cayuga, nuthin against ur car, but i bet low 15s. i know a guy with a 93 teg w/ a b16, its slow as hell, but ran 15.3 at st thomas. he broke a driveshaft there cause the tires didnt spin, lol

this reply is only directed to those Prelude haters out there

Hi my name is TPC. listen to all you Civics + other cars with no style sedans , what's the point of having a fast civic if it looks like fuken dirty old Kleanex box with wheels that your mother drives to pick up some milk from the corner store, I'd rather be driving a nice sexy lude that looks and feels like a real sports car.

hehehehe..

Exactly... "looks and feels" like a real sports car, but really isn't a sports car. 15 second FWD pigs aren't considered sports cars in my opinion.

gtown69 11-04-2006 10:17 AM

preludes are slow. let me know if you want to race a h22 eg that has 180whp and runs 13s all day.

PrinceMS 11-14-2006 12:11 PM

prelude power is in the top end ... i guess mainly because its honda and its heavy

liquidg 11-14-2006 04:53 PM
