Killed one, and got Killed...(kind of) (edited)

Well, this happend a coupel weeks ago, and I was pretty upset about it so I didnt want to post it quite yet. Anyways, I was driving home from work a couple weeks ago, and I see this red VW Jetta rice wannabe with wheel spacers and an exhaust tip or somthing that pulls along side me and drives near me for a couple miles. Then I passed him and got quite a ways up on him, not racing or anything, just driving. All of a sudden he does the infamous ricer-flyby and goes past me. I just drive the regular speed limit and the road makes a jump up to 55. So i acclerate and catch up to this guy and im behind him... then we come into the next town and the speed limit drops to 25... were doin about 40 (hes still inhead of me) so he gets in the right lane to get around a car, and gets back into the left... I get in the right lane and stay in the right. Then I get up next to him and were side by side for a bit because I'm not sure what hes gonna do. So up ahead you have to be in the left lane to stay going straight which is the direction I need to go so I accelerate a little bit to just get inhead of him. He decides he wants to stay along side me so I hear him downshift into 2nd, and I just punch it and as I'm like a car length inhead of him I hear him go to 1st cause he wasnt gaining ground and I just keep going like 3-4 carlengths inhead and get in the left lane. Then as I'm going straight I see lights go on, and a cop pulls us both over. I was just really freaked out, I figured I had got up to about 50-60mph and I was screwed. I sat there, and was polite, and answered his questions. I told him the guy wouldn't let me over into the other lane, which he wouldn't, so I sped up to get around him. The cop was a really nice guy, and let me off with an unessecary acceleration ticket ($114) over a racing ticket which would have been well over $200, 6 pts off my license, and pound me in the *** insurance. I wonder if he gave the other guy that ticket? :D Because he only had 2 on his clipboard that I could see and he gave me the cheaper one. I hope the other guy got that ticket, he really pissed me off. Now I'm going to court to fight the ticket because I cannot afford the insurance rate that it could boost to. I have to try at least. I'm about to move to the twin cites for college, and I am really low on cash. Anyways, that is my story. He was not even worth the gas, or the ticket, because his car was worthless. It was a stupid move on my part... but I did kill him :nana: For now, I am driving carefully.

haha......oh well. If he got the higher ticket I guess it was worth it. But Save those tickets for the good races. lol

That sucks, I hate stupid ricers.

camaro94 05-24-2005 12:00 AM

I hate it when those jerks do that crap. I just slow down & let them go off in their little car, thinking they're hotshots. I won't be drawn into stupid road games like that. Not worth it, like you said.

paarman97maro 05-25-2005 03:11 PM

Yeah thats what I did... I slowed down a little and he did too, then he sped up when I tried... he was a jerk.. but wish me luck next friday when I go to fight it :/

Mike Jones 05-25-2005 03:19 PM

Good luck man, I hope the judge understands what went on.

camaro94 05-26-2005 12:30 AM

good luck with it

Werd, sucks that ya got the ticket, but I'll tell ya if I was the one in the Jetta, I would've done the same thing.

Everytime I drive home, I go through a section where the road goes from two lanes to one... been that way for years. It merges about half a block after an intersection, and all these jerkoffs sit in the right lane so when the light turns green they can zoom ahead of everyone and cut us all off. If I'm in front, I stay side by side the entire time until they run out of road... even if they slow down, I slow down too. If I'm not in front and I see some *** speeding up to try and get around everyone, I slowly go 50-50 in each lane at the last minute so the person has to either slam on the brakes or swerve off over the curb. Teach the ****ers a lesson for being dicks. :) (Not directed at you, bro, ya just got me goin on another rant lol)

Anyway, back on topic, nice kill.. again sucks ya got the ticket tho. Try to fight it, make sure you claim responsibility but ask for no points... if you say you didn't do anything wrong or such, bam the judge will be a **** and throw the book at you.

why do that? that's actually reckless driving in itself, because of what you are making the other person do. If someone wants to go faster than you, the proper etiquette is to let them go. That's just as bad as the left lane hogs that go the same speed as the driver's in the right lane, and no one can't get past on either side. Which causes traffic to back up unnaturally, road rage, and unnecessary tactics to get through. Which they are now doing something about.

Werd, I should've worded it better... when I do that it's when it's rush hour traffic and some jerk thinks he deserves to go right up to where the lane ends even though it's backed up for a block just because some old lady will let the jerk in. Nothin gets my blood boiling more than when I see an already bad traffic jam becoming 100% worse because there's two or three drivers that think they're too good to sit in line, pull into the right lane that they know ends up a ways, and ride it to where they have to merge in... it just causes the backup to be even worse because now when the traffic starts moving, everyone behind the line has to keep waiting because we gotta let two more people in. If people would just get over into the proper lane ahead of time, the traffic starts moving faster and the traffic jam starts to ease up. If traffic's actually moving but it's still heavy, then yeah I make it a point to not let them in because they're purposefully being dicks.... that, and I've really noticed around here people that ride the lane that ends also drives horribly in traffic (slam on brakes at last minute, tailgate, etc). I personally love driving when everything goes smooth and you don't have to encounter the idjits that gotta cut in, but then when I see them coming... :banghead: I like to think that me being a jerk once just might scare them enough to think twice about doing it the next day.

That's a bit different. Yes, those people are annoying in traffic jams/construction. His was more of less traffic, just wanting to pass slower traffic kinda thing.

meissen 05-29-2005 07:45 PM

But still annoying. :)
