Killed by a Turbo Civic
My friend from work has this miracle motor (d16 - sohc) in his 1996 Hatchback Civic, its a honda motor so ofcourse it was a backyard project that he slapped together for fun and just happened to run (3 months and counting). He gots a huge turbo on it that by chance is boosting 10 psi out of nowhere, used to get 8. His motor isn't even dyno-tuned, he's running it with an auxilary fuel pressure regulator that's always on, miracle motor. We decided to run, my 1999 Camaro SS (pulled by only one axle, automatic, and on 225-60-16R...it's in a beaten stage) vs his Hatchback. Rolling at 20 mph, he took off a second early but pulled 2 car lengths ahead and not till 120 was I about to pass him, he broke. At a dead stop we both burned out til 60 then he got me by a length because he got traction sooner. He actually did pull slightly though throughout the rpm range, he beat me like this Evo 9 did. Can't wait till I get my Eaton LSD and Moser Axles in June thanks to Bush's refunds, then I'll put my 285-30-20R BF Goodrichs on and handle them stock.

HaHa must be a pretty wicked throw together your friend has, I thought about turboing my integra so many times because its so cheap for parts on imports its rediculous.

Time to start thinking of ricer excuses ironically haha.

Cheap parts you say?? not acording to me... its always more expensive to tune those japanese cars compared to our... especialy over here...

Thats the first time Ive heard someone from europe use the term "expensive" lol.

I agree with Phate, my friends turbo kit cost $600, the STS kit is over $4000. But it takes 10 lbs of boost to chase down a badly stock SS, any V8 with 10 lbs had better run away from Lambos. And my SS is only pulling one axle because of a bad diff.

That crazy , i guess you dont need dyno to configure your car to get some good results.
