yeah it sucks im a 17 year old who restored it with my dad and i spent many hours with him working on this so i got really upset when i heard it was totaled but then 3 days after i picked up a 93 daytona iroc which i liked more and hope to soon put a new motor in it and restore that to the beauty of my 89

Sorry to hear your luck, My buddy has a 87 Daytona Shelby Z and we are trying to fix it up in Auto class. We rebuilt the starter and we pulled out the tranny it was bone dry... with a bunch of sludge in the bottom so we cleaned it out and rebuilt the tranny but the semester ended before we could put it back in. Funny part was we read the owners manual and the tranny oil is supposed to be changed every 24000km's and it's got 280k on it. So we are hoping to get it working again. We left it outside the auto class for a weekend and somebody threw a tire through the back window from the roof of our school, I was pissed even though it wasn't my car. Sorry about your luck though, I would have been so ****ing pissed. I bet her daddy paid for everything though which is the sad part. Best of luck with your new Daytona.
