Hey,

Alright well i'm kind of new to this site, so i was wondering if n e body on here could help me out with something, ok well, i have a 1991 Mazda Miata with only 100 000 km's on it andf its in amazing condition, well i wanted to either do an engine swap or mod the engine, which do u think is better? r there n e engines u could suggest? i was thinking if i stick to the stock engine to do air intake, turbo kit, intercooler, headers, and a full exhaust kit. i'de appreciate some good suggestions thnx :thumbsup

Miata's are nice cars. I dont know too much about miata's myself but I heard that there are supercharger kits available for them . That should give you some good power tho. Then drop and rims and a roll bar, that's what i would do . Super Street was doing a build up a while back on one of those cars. If you can get a hold of some back issues or check their site it might give some helpful info.

how much do you plan on dropping into this car???

that sounds like an expensive wish list

swap the engine...

xtremekaz 08-31-2005 02:40 AM

id say depending on the funds either do a engine swap to say a V8 motor... or go Supercharged

i read a nice article last month on some guy i think in ohio and he did a S2K swap with a crazy turbo set up...if u got the money that would b sweet...

No to 5.0

Don't do a swap. Check out Flyin'Miatas.com

You get that car to about 250 rwhp you would love it because of the power to weight ratio.

go to miata.net
and do a lot of reading
I have a 90 miata and the 1.6 motor is a turbo motor
its out of a late 80's 323 turbo only difference is miata has higher compression pistions
and be very careful with the fuel
I blew my motor cuz it was leanning out in the cold
I cant affort to fix mine
so if you know any one who wants it
3000 car is ok
blown motor turbo kit bully 4 puck clutch kit and a hard top
I thinks thats a fair price
cuz u get a parts car with it
just the clutch is worth over a grand and I drove on it enough to brake it in

my opinion is:

-make sure your'e up to date on maintenance ie. timing belt, coolant etc....
-work on suspension. check your bushings and replace them accordingly with oem including nuts and bolts. it will be pia
-roll bar
-brakes
at this point take it to some autocross or track days then decide on your power mods. either turbo or supercharger.

shop around, jackson racing, greddy, bpr, flying miata or better yet. do some searches on miata.net
