While most buyers of the Mazda 2 will be seeking an affordable mode of transportation that is also good on gas, Mazda wanted to show that you can add a little spunk to the compact hatchback.

So the automaker equipped a Mazda 2 GX with just about every accessory offered as an example of what someone could do if they were so inclined.

The tester started as a GX model equipped with air conditioning and a convenience package. The price for the model equipped with the fivespeed manual transmission starts at $13,995 and the two additions mentioned above push it to $16,085 before any of the tuner accessories.

What those accessories allow a consumer to do is personalize the Mazda 2 while also standing out a little bit in a very crowded compact car segment.

They are also in addition to standard features such as power locks and windows, tilt steering, 60/40 split rear seats, steering-wheel audio and cruise controls, anti-lock brakes with electronic brakeforce distribution and brake assist, dynamic stability control, dual front air bags, frontseat side air bags, side air curtains and engine immobilizer anti-theft system.
