only thing that can be cosmetically wrong is that the little pin/clip that holds the lid shut, the tip broke off, so the slider is there, but when you close a laptop normally, you here it click/lock into place, this doesnt because the tip broke off...so when you close the lid, it stays open about a quarter of an inch...doesnt affect performance at all...
