hatch latch stuck

hatch latch stuck
Hey, I just bought a 2gnt and the hatch back latch is stuck. ive tried wd40ing the lock a lot, but it doesnt help at all. I thought i could take off the interior pannels but i cant seem to get the top panel attached to the hatch off, or the one in the center of the back. Anyone have any ideas on how i could get this open? thanks.

if theirs a trunk release beside your driver seat like on the turbo cars pull that good and hard at first i was pulling it just not far enough and if your pulling hard enough it feels like its gonna break then take the interior apart around it and then stick some vice grips on the cable and pull it u will hear the trunk open its fairly loud
