I just saw a Evo with Ontario plates...
White evo driving in thornhill, big intercooler, carbon hood, wing, skirts, roofscoop.. ontario plates.. saw it with my own eyes, and have seen this car 2wice before, accept less mods.... anyone know this guy?!
i saw the same car too in my area a while back near McCowan Rd & 14th Ave in Markham , it was parked right next to a Blue STi........both cars are very sick
What generation of evo? I've seen what looks like a evo from 1990-1999s, thats white, with what looks like BBS rims and a nice sounding exhaust..
Supra RZ, great to hear because ive been ripped on so much for being a "liar", and clearly am not.. it was a VIII or IX, so not 90-99, but above
well to me it "looked" like an Evo....so im not sure if it's a Lancer dressed up as a Evo or if it's an actual Evo
Damn good dress up then, and it left me in the dust when i was in my talon on the 407
yeah well i have seen 2 markIV supras in oakville here and i haven;t gotten close enough to see there plates, but sometimes i wonder. It could be from down south or maybe its legit.
If my IV you mean 93-98 yea ive seen a bunch all with ontario plates, those r legal, the idea of that being legal and evo not being, very dumb.... & my intercooler is more vulnerable then a evos.. o well.. thats our goverment lol

Auto Park in Burlington had one for sale last summer it was a year old I think it was selling for just over $50,000 cdn it was orginally a US car.
It wasnt an EVO you fool
My uncle worked at autopark, he said they had one, and had to send it back to US bucz it would have cost too much to make it street legal here :(.. but someone with the cash would be able to do it.. e.g. this white evo... whats to stop someone from switching the vins from arallyart to a evo, and saying they switched everything?
There are a Couple of Evo's (and Wanna-be's) around
There is a White Evo VIII with NY Plates in Mississauga, and there is a also a White Lancer ES that has been done up with an Evo IX Body and Alot of Mods. (Guy has to have more money than brains) There is a Blue ES that is done up with full VIII Kit out of Montreal, that has been spotted in Toronto down by the Docks. And there is rumours that there are a couple of EVO's in Ontario that have been VIN Swapped with wrecked Lancers (Very Stupid Move)

We have had discussions about this in the Mitsubishi Forum. -The Lancers are FWD where the EVO's are AWD, so right there you run into one of the biggest problems. -The Bumpers of the Lancers would interfere with the Intercooler of the Evo (Thus why the EVO is on the RIV Inadmissible list) -The Shocks, suspension, Tires, sway Bars are totally different -The Mounting of the Upper/Lower Control Arms are different -The Engine would have to be swapped. -The Entire Engine Comparment has to be rearranged to fit the IC/Turbo/etc. I want an Evo as much as any man out there, the only difference is that I know that it's not going to happen until the 08's are here (July) and I don't spend my time making up stories of how I am going to convert a Lancer to an Evo. |
It's not the guy from New York. This is his car and that description (the first post) definately does not match this:

We got guys on MCCC trying to figure it out as well. Just to confirm, it was a Right hand Drive Evo V?
Because we have a Couple of guys that have spotted a White Evo V with RHD and Ontario Plates around Markham & Sheppard. Also the Evo that is pictured above is Humza, it is a NY Registered Evo VIII MR with Black UK Badging on the Trunk. It is truly a Gorgeous car. |
theres a white evo 8 with massive-two-shits plates on it up here. maybe its that one.
i'v have seen a Evo V here in Ottawa as well, but it was black, and he had Ontraio plate's too, the only thing i can think of is either a VIN swap or if you notice on the RIV list that it shows 2003 to 2007 Evo's not allowed in Canada, nothing about prior models, so either they found a loop hole in the system or another way of getting them in....not sure:dunno:
Hey, dont remember if it was rhd or not, never thought to look, they did make the evo 7 in UK, mabe they imported that one? cuz it was 2002... hmmmm.. so many possibilities, next time i c it i'll chase it down n tlk to the guy, thats the only way to solve this..
he's gonna think your stalking him.........LOL:drive:
meh... who cares... if its nice car it's meant to have attention!

it would seem like a more logical solution for the RHD |
anything before 2003 were either sold from Japan or the UK, so yes RHD
OK sold in UK, produced in japan, sry for not being super technical.. everyone just keep eyes open it'll show up again
i think ive seen this samewhite evo IX MR at the Richmond hill Silver city a couple of months ago, it had new york plates on then.

There is a 3000GT in Brantford, an absolutely gorgeous car, guy paid dearly to have it imported though. (and no it is not just a re badged stealth) and yes I am sure with a lot of people from here and MCCC looking for him, we will find him soon enough. |
the vin replacement is a bad idea, most customs officals are educated about cars that they are waiving in.. anyone remember the dude that tried to import the 99 skyline gtr last summer? Yeah he replaced the vin with a vin from 89 skyline gtr.. anyways customs found out, held every car that was being imported for two weeks to make sure no one else was doing it, that dudes car ended up getting torn up (to verify what it actually was) and the parts/shell were sent back to japan..
