Yes I am. I have a Super9 50cc scooter now, but I plan on getting a Burgman 400cc scooter. My 50cc scooter gets about 60mpg and the 400cc after it is broken in, I'm told will get about 75mpg. My car gets 25mpg. My scooter will have no gears to worry about. So I say to you get a scooter. It's better on gas. And it is a lot of fun to drive. Snowman

I have been using my bicycle to get to work and am now purchasing an electric scooter for the longer trips I make. If you buy a limited speed electric scooter you do not need a licence and insurance. This means a top speed of 32 kph but you can just get on and ride without the extra cost and bother of licence and insurance. It can also be ridden the same way you would normally ride a bicycle, ie. on road verges, and parked almost anywhere. The range is approximately 50 km with one battery, but you can use a second battery to extend that, and it may be recharged anywhere you can plug in. An electric vehicle costs very little to power and maintain, and you get to feel good about your low carbon footprint, especially in BC where our electricity is hydro. After a lot of research I settled on the Motorino scooters. Also, an engineer client of mine vouched for them. My Motorino VT is going to cost $1299.00 plus $100 for shipping from Vancouver to Parksville. Search for "e-ride" to find one of the Motorino web sites.
