Can you park a motorcycle or scooter on the sidewalk?

From observation, asking various people, and even asking police officers and parking officials, they say that although the state law prohibits parking any motor vehicle on the sidewalk, Denver has an ordinance that allows two-wheeled vehicles to park on the sidewalk. I see scooters on the sidewalk or in bike walks every day without tickets hanging from them. Does anyone know the number or section of the Denver Code that allows motorcycles or scooters to park on the sidewalk?

I think your best bet is to check with the local PD. Some places may have a local ordnance which could be street or zone specific. This way you avoid the ticket hassle and the old "somebody told me it was O-K" routine. Think KISS, keep it simple stupid. You are dealing with town officials in the long term. Have a good scooter day. BA in Mystic, CT
