How do you measure for a motorcycle helmet?

New bf has a bike and wants me to go out with him, but I don't own a helmet! No biker shops nearby so I want to mail order one. Any help is appreciated!

Don't order one with out knowing your size I'm a biker and a bike mechanic and a helmet will not save your life if it dosen't fit trust me i know from exp. you want a helmet that fits snug but dosent cause your head to hurt, and you want a helmet that fits so it dosen't fly up or come down over your eyes so you cant see the road just cause your not driving the bike dosent mean you don't need your eyes on the road. Get a DOT approved helmet there safer and meet the department of transportation standards. I have fallen of my bike without a helmet on and i hurts like a mother

Did your BF buy his bike at a shop? If so, go in and ask if they have any helmets you could try for size.

I'd never buy a helmet without trying it on, no matter the price. Different manufacturers == different sizes.

If you know anyone who has a bike, besides the BF see if you can try on their helmets.

Good luck :)

I think you can go to LoveBiker.com to find the answer, because there are lots of professional bikers who can give you good suggestions. Wish you good luck!

Walmart has an ok inventory of mc helmets....you have to try it on....NEVER buy a used helmet, or buy one on the internet, you have no guarantee that it will fit.....this is a matter of life and death.
