How do you raise the idle on a moped (or anything)?
I have a moped, and it often just dies when it's idling, and i'm guessing it's because its idle is set too low. How do I raise the idle, or how else could I fix this problem?

If it has a carburetor one could adjust the idle. But first!!!Give it a tune up and change your fuel filter. Owners manuals are so you can do the simple stuff to keep you from having to pay for expert stuff until it is recommended by the owners manual or becomes obviously necessary or can be avoided "until later cuz its running fine now" or it BREAKS down. Lots needs to be told about your conditions. Maybe there is water in the fuel from condensation because its been sitting a long time. Maybe you have a plastic fuel line with a hairline crack that you cant see which sometimes lets it suck more air than it should. Maybe your throttle cable has stretched and needs adjusting or is soon to break. Maybe the idle stop screw has moved. This screw if you have it, is separate from the idle adjustments mentioned by others. You dont have to become an expert but you should know your wheels. You have detected a sympton; now work the problem.Wayne
