Or give him some "gift certificates", like for massages, etc...You can print some homemade ones for nice things you can do for him.

Maybe you should tell him to not expect anything super big in return...it doesnt matter how much something costs that you get him, just get him something that will mean alot.

It's not price, it's meaning. He is buying you something so that you and he can experience the fun of the trails together. Get him something that shows an interest in sharing experiences too. If he has not completed a Safety course, you should buy him one...It'll save him a ton on insurance!
