Keihin Carburator

Problem???? I have a 1971 Harley Davidson Ironhead that has a Keihin CV carb. It was working fine but a couple of months ago it got to where it would only run right with the enrichment knob fully out. It idles fine but has no power for about the first 1/8 turn of throttle(won't make it up the driveway). The problem seems to be in the pilot system. I have disassembled and cleaned it twice. Everything seems to be clear and all the parts are back in the right place but the problem remains. Again, with the enrichment knob fully out it runs good (although to rich). Does anyone have an idea what could be causing this problem??

2 things you might want to check: The diaphram at the top of the carb may have a small hole in it. Double check the boots that attach the carb manifold to the heads. These tear right under the steel bands. You can't see the tears until after you remove the bands.Hope this helps....
