M2 Motorcycle Insurance

Does the insurance go up when you get your M2? Or does it go down? My thought is once you get your M2 you can ride on freeways, with passengers, and at night so will this go up? Right now my plan is to get my M1 in January wait the mandatory 2 months and I'll be able to take M1 exit course at the end of March. Right now my quotes using Kanetix as of now if I were to have my M1, would be $1650 for a 1990 Honda Rebel 250cc, or $2450 Honda Shadow 500cc.

I know everyone says start out on 250cc I will be just at the training. Yet I'd like to buy my bike in the off season. I just want to make sure that insurance is not gonna go up rather then down when I get the M2 in March.

it is definitely not going to go up after you get your m2. As a matter of fact a lot of companies wont even insure you when you have your m1 only. There's a company called John Duffy Insurance (905)479-2013. They should be able to get the cheapest rate for you. Or you can try statefarm but you'll have to bring your car over with them. Don't even bother with Kanetix they're unreliable.

go get your M1 and then go for insurance as soon as you get your M2. you can always use kanetix to compare quotes, but try to get insured with whoever you are with now for your car
