Is a motorcycle suppose to leak gas when it's tipped over?

I have a dirt bike and I've noticed that when the bike is tipped over it will leak a small amount of gas. I'm speculating that this is buy design. Can anyone elaborate on this? Thanks.

Yes. Now bend down and light a match. It shouldn't spark a fire.

It's either too full, or you have a leak.

uh, dirt bikes are meant to hold up to alot, but if you have gas leaking whenever you tip your bike over, you should probably get it checked out... it could prove pretty dangerous...

there should be an overflow or a vent with the gas tank that allows vapor pressure to escape. Some gas can exit if the bike is flipped over.

Riding with a full tank of gasoline under pressure between your legs is unhealthy.

yes it is not supposed to be tipped over. Its designed to be ridden upright....:):):) sorry..couldnt help it..

But,its the vent thats likely leaking..all or most have to have a vent to allow air in for proper operation.
